The decade long Census of Marine Life program banded together a global network of over 2,600 scientists from 80+ nations around the world, who engaged in over 500 research cruises across jurisdictional and disciplinary boundaries to learn what lives in the ocean, what lived in the ocean, and what will live in the future ocean.

Title: "San Diego Oceans Foundation (SDOF): Past, Present, and Future"
SDOF was founded in 1984 biased on the inspiration of Ronald Regan who proclaimed 1984 the Year of the Ocean. One major projects of SDOF in the past was the sinking of the Yukon. Currently SDOF is raising white sea bass working with Hubbs-Sea World and a number of other community related projects. Last year they started a collaborative fishery research program working with lobster fishermen to monitor the MPAs.
