Welcome to Graduate Study at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography

The information provided here is designed to supplement the publications you will receive later by providing you with additional information to facilitate your transition to UCSD, the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the San Diego area.

SIO Curricular Group Orientations (ALL SESSIONS ARE THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th):

AOS: No Applied Ocean Sciences Curricular Group Orientation, only the Climate Ocean Atmosphere Program Orientation.

BO: Biological Oceanography Orientation in Vaughan Hall 300 from 11 a.m. -12 p.m. followed by an OBP Welcome lunch at Surfside from 12 p.m. -1:30 p.m.

CS: No Climate Science Curricular Group Orientation, only the Climate Ocean Atmosphere Program Orientation.

GP: Geophysics-Breakout session following the Geosciences Program Orientation in IGPP Munk Lab Room 303 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

GS: Geoscience- Breakout session following the Geosciences Program Orientation from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

MB: Marine Biology Orientation from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. in Vaughan Hall 100 followed by an OBP Welcome lunch at Surfside from 12 p.m. -1:30 p.m.

MCG: Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry- Breakout session following the Geosciences Program Orientation in Vaughan Hall 328 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
